A curious kid you are!

Hello, the new friend! Like literally new! A week old, perhaps?

So, how did we become friends exactly? Because you are very very very curious.

Really. Don’t trust me? Read these:

And the curiosity started the friendship. But as an afterthought, I want to ask you. You ask so many questions on every picture but never like any! Why?? :OAnd I think what connects me to you so well is the passion for food that we both have. From a simple dal chawal to a spinach & cheese ravioli, from a cheap Chinese buffet to the very basic rock salt on the salad.

The conversations with any of my friends have never been so foodily delicious, tempting, appetizing and pleasing.  I love your passion for food and you may just inspire me to enter the kitchen and learn cooking. Really! But I must add talking to you all the time is very injurious to my diet. 😛

So, before the curious mind of you asks me about your birthday gift, here it is:

A Roaring Wish for Ya!

Say Hrishikesh, didja know there’s a contestant on Masterchef Season 5 called Rishi, who cooks awesome and his name’s also Hrishikesh? What a coincidence ya! Guess Hrishikesh people are foodies. I know… 2 out of God-knows-what-number of Hrishikeshs in the world are not much, but hey it’s a tasty coincidence ain’t it?

I’m a self-confessed NPF (Non Photographic Foodie) and all you photographic foodies are so diverse in snaps, I swear I end up confused what you love the most! I heard you love Cadbury Five Star a lot, and that’s like another beautiful coincidence. A five-star friend loving five-star! Five stars to you! Just virtual. Jab we meet, will getcha a crunchy wala five star! 🙂 🙂

Then I heard you’re a Pottermaniac. Whoop-de-doo! Me one too! Haven’t quite found a series to beat that yet. Won’t happen I guess! 😀

That’s pretty much what I know! Not a lot. Then again, from this lot of nuts, I’m the most recent addition perhaps. So maybe some other surprise blog foodie fiesta, I’ll write a bigger wish post! 😉

No no. We’re not quite done with the wishes yet! 😀

Happy Birthday Bawa!  May your days be filled with chocolates, cakes, savouries and your favourite drinks!

So here’s the thing, I love food …cooking and enjoying but terrible at keeping track and posting. Since this is through the virtual world of blogs (which often seems more real than the actual world) and I cannot bake you a cake, I suggest you make this 5min cake in a mug using the recipe below. By the way this is a tested recipe (taken from http://hungryandexcited.com/blog and of course altered to taste and vegetarianism) and it works like a charm – all you need is the ingredients, a mug and a microwave!

Makes 2 mug-cakes:

Flour – 4 tablespoons
Sugar – 4 tablespoons (Prefer the chocolate taste to the sweetness – go ahead and reduce this)
Cocoa – 2 tablespoons
Baking powder – 1/2 tablespoon
Milk – 3 tablespoons
Cooking oil / Butter – 3 tablespoons
Yoghurt – added 2 tablespoons (or 1 egg)
A drizzle of vanilla

Mix the dry ingredients and then add the rest and mix well…might be easier in a bowl (;-)).
Bake in a normal microwave with two bursts of heat – 1 min , stop , 30sec …check before doing any more! And use large mugs as the cake rises!!!

The love, the warmth, the generosity they exude is what I always associate with you! Here is hoping that your life is always filled with the same warmth, love and generosity! The boy stood on the burning deck

As Sweet As You Are

Hey Pal! It’s your birthday and you seem to be on a roll hunting for posts dedicated to you. Now that you’re here, hope this makes your day as sweet as you are!

I bet when you were born you were chubby and cute…. just like these baby cupcakes below. I am sure you endeared everyone who was around you just like you enamor us all now. Here’s to the Universe for giving us a warm, smart and a sweet pal like you.

And when you grew a bit more, I am sure you turned out to be mischievous. The glint in your eye is witness to the infinite mischief you must have created as an urchin. Makes me smile when I realize what a fine young man you have turned out to be. 

Of course, when one gets entangled in the worldly affairs, one tends to get too busy to notice the finer details in life. But you, my friend, are reasonably sharp, calculative and immensely prompt. I know how at a slight beck you are up on your feet to deliver. Of course, sometimes you tend to procrastinate but that does not make you lazy. You are fast thinking and quick to respond. 

Its been a pleasure knowing you and would continue to pursue through the web of connect that we have. Hope this day brings a whole lot of colors in your life. Cherish each beautiful moment and learn and grow along the way. Wishing you a colorful day.
